Summer Bucket List

Back in May, I came up with a bunch of fun ideas/activities to keep my girls having fun this summer, a Summer Bucket List.  We wrote down all our ideas on pieces of paper and put them in, a bucket! The idea was each day or couple days we would pick from the bucket to see what we would do.  Then, for each activity we did, we took a picture (or a couple).  At the end of the summer, I am going to create a photo book of our adventures. It will be something special we can always look back at and remember all the fun we had!

Here is our Summer Bucket List: I've crossed out the items we have done so far!

  • Make cookies from scratch
  • Paint
  • Learn to swim (my girls, not me!)
  • Go to an outdoor movie
  • Catch fireflies
  • Go on a nature walk
  • Play at a splash park
  • Tie dye shirts
  • Go to a parade
  • Host a playdate
  • Go to the movies
  • Go out for ice cream
  • Family movie night
  • Family game night
  • Make gooey playdoh
  • Photo scavenger hunt
  • Go bowling
  • Swim in a lake
  • Shop for school supplies
  • Get our nails done
  • Get haircuts
  • Have a picnic
  • Go to the zoo (might have to wait till it's not 99 degrees out!)
  • Visit a museum
  • Make our own popsicles
  • Make pizza from scratch
  • Play with bubbles & sidewalk chalk
  • Make smores
  • Freeze dance
  • Plant a garden
  • Make brownies
  • Set up a photo shoot just because
  • Disney Cruise (my daughters idea, not gonna happen!)
  • Go to the library

.

And we have one month left to finish off the list!

It's never too late to start a bucket list of your own :)

Techie Tuesday - Some of my favorite apps

Are you like me? Addicted to the iPhone, always searching for new apps, checking it constantly?!? Well this is for you...Here are some of my go to apps.

This is my absolute FAV & most used app.  Snap a pic with your phone, then use Instagram to apply a filter to edit the photo, one click and done! For example, here is a photo taken of my daughter with my phone.

Before:

After using Instagram:

It's just a fun little app to play around with.

This is great especially for travel. On a road trip and need that Starbucks coffee? Open Around Me and it will use your location to find one!  You can find everything from coffee shops, gas stations, restaurants, grocery store, etc.

This apps acts as a food diary and also tracks your work out as well.  I (used) to use it and it definitely helps you to loose weight when you are tracking everything.  It has a database of food and exercises also and calculates your daily calorie intake.

This is a no brainer. Not sure what to make for dinner? Pop open this app to help you find something yummy!

Stay up to date with the latest in news and finance.

Do you have a favorite app? Leave me a comment so I can check it out.

Fabulous Freebies- Great for Back To School

In exactly 1 month, my oldest starts Kindergarten! AH! Where did the time go?!? I can not believe it. We are crossing off items on our school supply list, buying new school clothes, and preparing my not-a-morning person daughter for waking up at 6am (UGH!) We just bought her a lunch box on Friday, Hello Kitty...to match her back pack and I was thinking I need a cute way to label these things.

I remember that I had downloaded these adorable free printable bag tags almost a year ago via one of my favorite Graphic Designers, Anders Ruff.   You can customize these tags with your child's name and there are 2 super cute girls & boy versions! Just download the PDF file, type in your child's name, & print! Easy Cheesy!

Girl Bag Tags
Butterflies & Owl

Boy Bag Tags
 Sock Money & Cars

Aren't they sooo cute!! You can even use these for luggage or they would also be good for a diaper bag too!

Inspire Me!

As many of us wrap up the weekend and get ready to start a new work week, I want to share some inspirational words with you. {All images via Pinterest}

Now...go out there and be AWESOME!! :)

{Dolla Holla} Target Dollar Bins

Happy Weekend!

Here is something to look out for if you stop in Target over the weekend...cause.... you know you can't resist the dollar bins! Especially if you have kids with you....BINGO! Sure, you can get those bubbles, sidewalk chalk, AND the water gun!

I have been working with my oldest, who starts Kindergarten next month on reading and was in need of some early reading books.  As I was pursuing, I found these 3 books-Levels Pre-K-K, 1st grade, and 2nd grade, so of course I bought them all, why not? These are great!

The Pink Dinky Doo Back to School is Cool is too advanced but its still a cute story to read to your kids! My girls really like it :)

We also have picked up water balloons, bubbles wands, sidewalk chalk, and water guns recently in the dollar bins.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Photo Scavenger Hunt

Welcome to my first post at B2B! Today I'm sharing a fun activity to do with your kids. This would be great on a rainy day or just something to do to beat the heat of summer! Even better, its totally FREE! Who doesn't like the sound of that?!?

I thought of this game because if you are like me, you have random photos on your phone taken by little people.  My daughters like to take my iPhone and take photos around the house, some that are barely recognizable. So, I figured why not write down a list of items that can be found around the house they need to find and take a photo of, a Photo Scavenger Hunt! They check off items on the list as they go, and come back to you to check their work.  Not only do they like the hunt part of the game, it will also teach them to read simple words such as, book, shoes, etc. AND....it will also give YOU a chance to check Facebook while they are off scouting :)

Here is a list of items I came up with. The possibilities are endless!

Photo Scavenger Hunt

1.   Book

2.   Shoes

3.   Something red

4.   Favorite toy

5.    T.V

6.    Something yellow

7.   Bed

8.   Computer
